Partnership Boxes
Hosting a Partnership Sale is a great way to grow economic justice, support Fair Trade, the artisans of Peru, and our non-profit organization. Selling a Partnership Box is quite simple, and with the 20% discount given to all contents in a Partnership Box, you can use the Fair Trade sale as a fundraiser for your own local project.
How it works
You select the items you want to sell.
The great part about it is that if you find that you can’t sell everything from the box, you can pack it away until your next fundraising event! We hope that you will let us know what worthy projects were supported from the proceeds from your sale so that we can pass this information on to the artisan groups and post it on our website. In 2005 proceeds from one of the Partnership Boxes helped victims of Hurricane Katrina. As one artisan said, “It made me feel so happy to know that the work from my hands helped a Hurricane Katrina victim in the U.S.”
The minimum order amount is $300 (at full retail price and before the 20% discount is given).
Signing up
Our online ordering system allows you to choose which items you would like to sell in your Partnership Box. After you fill out the necessary information (click here to do so) we’ll then contact you with a username and password to access our special Partnership Coordinators Section, where you’ll be able to shop and order your box contents online without having to make an online payment. Our special online ordering system allows you to choose which items you would like to sell in your Partnership Box.
Prepayment and agreement
Once we receive your order, we’ll send you a confirmation e-mail along with an invoice for the 15% pre-payment on the retail value of your box and our Partnership Box Agreement (download here) which needs to be signed and returned. We realize a pre-payment might be difficult but we request it because we pre-finance the artisans so they can purchase supplies without going into debt.
Tips for ordering
We suggest that you start planning for your box 6 weeks in advance. We cannot fill or ship out your box until we have received your Partnership Box Agreement and prepayment. Thus, 6 weeks gives you plenty of time to turn these in and it gives PJT time to fill and ship your order.
Shipping
Receive free shipping for Partnership Box orders of $600 or more – otherwise, we’ll include in your final invoice the cost of shipping the box to you.
First time ordering or don't
have the time to choose?
If
it’s your first time ordering you may feel a
little intimidated by
choosing what will sell (we can understand
that!) or you just might not
have the time to sit down and pick what you
want. We have a set box
worth $1000 that you can order that contains
items that PJT chooses for
you. After a few questions about your event
and location, we’ll pull
together a box containing a variety of
products that we think will work
best for you. You have the option of returning
items from these boxes,
but there is not a 20% discount. If you
are interested in ordering a
Partnership Box this way, send us an e-mail to
sales@partnersforjusttrade.org.
Final payment
Along
with your box, you will receive an
invoice for the total payment
(minus the 15% pre-payment) and if
appropriate, the shipping costs.
Payment to PJT (in one single check made
payable to Partners for Just
Trade) is due within 60 days.
Preparing for your
sale
We have an online Sales
Kit that provides promotional materials for
your sale and helps you to learn more about
Fair Trade and the producers behind the
products. We also offer a free copy of the
Bible Study Fair Trade: Using our Purchasing
Power for Justice and Hope to all Partnership
Box coordinators. In addition, we are planning
the release of a short DVD on the principles of
Fair Trade in the fall so this might be
available for your sale as well.
