Kuichi was formed by 5 women living in Chorrillos, Lima. They began as a group, simply mending clothes. But, one day they talked about the possiblity of forming a workshop where they hoped to support themselves economically and wouldn't have to leave their children while working. One of the members looked on the internet for ideas and came across our web site and contacted us. At first, none of their products were accepted, and the Fair Trade project gave ideas to better the products' quality. Their manta folder was accepted as their first product, and they became a part of Bridge of Hope as Kuichi, which is the Quecha word for Rainbow.
