Graphic and Web Designer Intern

The Graphic and Web Designer Intern reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Sales Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the sales team to design compelling, customized graphics that will exceed everyone's expectations
  • Adhere to PJT's identity standards while continuing to enhance our design aesthetic by turning out fresh, cutting-edge graphics
  • Create various marketing communication materials (one-pagers, product info sheets, posters, etc), media advertising, promotions, and more
  • Design attractive graphics, images, and other visual elements, and adapt them for the PJT's website and social media channels
  • Conceptualize and create high-quality online designs, such as banners, e-mails and landing pages
  • Test to ensure that minimal errors are found in production and optimize the layout of materials, site performance and compatibility with various browsers.
Position Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to PhotoShop and InDesign
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Possess strong creative and design skills
  • Knowledge of Flash is a plus
  • Organized and able to act independently

Product Photographer Intern

The Product Photographer Intern reports to and works closely with the Sales Coordinator.

Responsibilities
  • Photograph PJT products for use in promotional materials and online according to PJT specifications
  • Create transparent image backgrounds in photo editing applications
  • Enhance photos in photo editing applications to remove imperfections while preserving natural shadows
  • Work with Sales Intern to recruit volunteer models
  • Establish good working relationship with models so they will feel at ease with the camera
  • Use various props and backdrops as necessary to create an appropriate photo setting
  • Produce unique, creative and artistic fashion photo concepts that will entice customers
  • Perform photo shoots in a wide variety of locations to show
Position Qualifications
  • Ability to work with studio lighting in order to bring out the best features of the products
  • Ability to shoot products with highly reflective surface
  • Good eye and artistic ability
  • Superb artistic detail
  • Knowledge in photo editing applications
  • Organized and able to act independently

Educational Outreach Intern

The Educational Outreach Intern reports to and works closely with the Executive Director.

Responsibilities
  • Research and start planning a 2011 artisan visit to the U.S.
  • Coordinate with students, retail stores and faith groups to organize the visit.
  • Work closely with Bridge of Hope (Peru) to prepare artisans for the visit.
  • Develop marketing material to be used by local hosts to promote the event (talking points, media release, etc).
  • Identify and develop needed educational resources that will strengthen educational experience of artisan visit.

Marketing and Publicity Intern

The Marketing and Publicity Intern reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities
  • Increase awareness of PJT’s educational resources through regional events, social media and other relevant channels
  • Research opportunities to promote PJT in news and other media outlets
  • Writing and editing media and related materials (news releases, Web and newsletter copy, pitch letters, articles, talking points)
  • Write content for various marketing communication materials

Sales Intern

The Sales Intern reports to and works closely with the Sales Coordinator.

Responsibilities
  • Researches potential local and national sales opportunities.
  • Promotes local fundraising sales events.
  • Updates office display monthly with new products.
  • Performs analysis of PJT’s various sales channels.
  • Makes recommendations to improve sales marketing materials.
  • Sells at local events.
  • Organizes photo shoot.
  • Serve as support to various projects that the Sales Coordinator is working on.
Position Qualifications
  • Experience in retail and/or wholesale sales
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Organized and able to act independently

Fall Sales and Fulfillment Intern

The Sales and Fulfillment Intern reports to the Office and Inventory Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Fulfill orders, picking and packing, during the Fall season.
  • Sell PJT products at local events when necessary.
  • Coordinate fundraising and sales mailings.
  • Work with Office and Inventory Manager to ensure that products are properly priced.
  • Serve as support to various projects that the Office and Inventory Manager is working on.
Position Qualifications
  • Interest in and a desire to learn more about Fair Trade.
  • Ability to work in a flexible, unsupervised environment.
  • Must be available to work at least 2 to 3 weekday afternoons.
